Why HPFT Are Only Taking Certain Referrals?
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) provides NHS ADHD assessments and care for people in our area.
Due to high demand, they are currently only accepting referrals for people who meet specific criteria, such as:
Being at significant risk (e.g. suicidal intent);
Having complex needs;
Experiencing multiple psychosocial difficulties that affect daily life.
This means they cannot assess everyone with possible ADHD symptoms at this time. This situation is in line with local service pressures seen elsewhere in the NHS where adult services have paused routine referrals to prioritise urgent or complex cases.
